Kenneth H. Chase, M.D., F.A.C.O.E.M.

Founder and President of Washington Occupational Health Associates, Inc., Dr. Chase is Board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine, a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO), and a nationally recognized authority and leader within these fields. In addition, Dr. Chase is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), where he currently serves on the Board of Examiners and the Disaster Preparedness and other committees. His service to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors is the result of 20 years of continuing service to this professional organization and represents recognition of his leadership by professional peers at a national level.  Dr. Chase has served as author, editor, and reviewer of numerous publications in the occupational and environmental health fields.

 

John Whysner, M.D., Ph.D., D.A.B.T.

Dr. Whysner serves as Vice President of WOHA and is a Board-certified toxicologist. Dr. Whysner is an expert in the areas of toxicology, risk assessment and risk communication for chemicals found in the workplace and the environment.  He serves as a consultant to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the U.S. Government.   Dr. Whysner has also served as Chief of the Division of Pathology and Toxicology at the American Health Foundation.  He has authored articles and reports on PCBs, dioxins, power plant emissions, petroleum products, lead, solvents, asbestos and numerous other agents. Dr. Whysner also provides expert testimony and serves as a spokesperson to the media on issues of chemical safety.  Dr. Whysner is also Associate Clinical Professor of Environmental Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University.

 

Samuel J. Scott, Jr., M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.O.E.M.

Dr. Scott serves as Director of Clinical Services at WOHA. He has extensive experience in the application of quality assurance and utilization review and has served on the Quality Assurance/Utilization Review committee of the George Washington University Hospital. In addition to being Board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine, Dr. Scott is a certified Independent Medical Examiner, a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO), a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner, and he is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Directing WOHA’s clinic operations, Dr. Scott is a recognized and respected member of the Washington, DC medical community and continues to serve as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at George Washington University. Dr. Scott is also a member of  Delta Omega Public Health Honor Society.

Neil B. Jurinski, Ph.D., C.I.H.

Dr. Jurinski is a Certified Industrial Hygienist with a Ph.D. in chemistry and serves as a specialist for WOHA in the areas of industrial hygiene, toxic chemical handling and disposal programs. As a nationally recognized expert in chemical hazard control problems, Dr. Jurinski offers technical expertise in environmental control, industrial hygiene field surveys and the development of control techniques for chemical carcinogens as well as ongoing health and safety programs.

 

Diane M. Brewer, M.A., CCC-A

Dr. Brewer is the CAOHC Course Director for WOHA’s bi-annual occupational hearing conservation course. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at the George Washington University. She teaches acoustics, anatomy and physiology of the auditory system, introduction to audiology and aural rehabilitation courses. In addition she is a clinical supervisor for graduate students in speech pathology and audiology. Her areas of research interest include speech understanding in noise in adults, otoacoustic emissions, aural rehabilitation, and hearing conservation programs.

 

Jerry W. Clever, Ph.D.

Dr. Clever serves as Director of Behavioral Health Services at WOHA. He has extensive experience in behavioral health consultation and organizational change. Dr. Clever varied experience includes clinical directorships of a community mental health center, an inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation hospital, coordination of inpatient psychiatric services, regional clinical management of Viet Nam veteran outreach, and past executive responsibilities for a venture start up physician driven provider network and three medical mall facilities in the metro D.C. area.
